Stress Management
By Chris Thomas of Vision Coaching Services

In Britain , stress accounts for up to 40 million lost working days per year. It is an unavoidable part of modern life. Stress can result from a multitude of reasons such as a high pressure job, relationship issues, financial problems, traffic jams, loneliness and disturbed nights sleep to name a few.

Some people turn to alcohol, cigarettes or drugs to combat stress or we can enjoy working with complementary therapies such as massage, reiki, or physical releases such as yoga or exercise all of which are important to relieve the symptoms of stress.

Some also go the traditional medical route of managing the symptoms through various forms of medication. Today, some people are beginning to tackle stress at the route of the problem rather than dealing with the symptoms by using techniques from the fields of Hypnotherapy, Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) and Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT).

Stress is part of the natural human 'fight or flight' response which has been with us since the beginning of time. It is part of our body's natural signaling system which tells us there is something in our environment we need to pay attention to. Stress is typically seen as that 'part' of the fight or flight response when no action is being taken to address the issue around us. As our body is seldom under physical attack, the fight or flight response most commonly causes stress or in extreme cases panic attacks.

At Vision Coaching we work with clients to get to the route of the major causes in stress in their life and through a number of techniques from the fields of Hypnosis, NLP or EFT. We work with individuals one on one and run highly successful and fun stress management weekend workshops to change your emotional response to stress.

We would love you to join us on one of our experiential workshops, and until then we invite you to take time and try out some of the highly practical and easy suggestions below, to start your journey to a stress free life:

. Practice yoga, Pilates, or meditation
. Take time to pamper yourself
. Make a conscious effort to relax at the end of the day
. Have time off just for yourself

. Light a candle
. Try to make choices
